NCC Air Wing, or the National Cadet Corps, is a Tri-service Organization, including the Army, Air Force, and Navy. NCC recruits youth from high schools, colleges, and universities voluntarily.

A girls division was added to NCC in 1948 to provide equal opportunity to school and college-going girls. In 1950, NCC widened its horizon with the addition of the air wing.

The NCC curriculum has developed from military training to molding the youth into disciplined, conscious, and responsible citizens. After the training is complete, it is not mandated for the cadets to serve the nation by joining any Indian Military Force.
